The Market Housing Fund for First Nations
Helping First Nations Grow Prosperity
The Market Housing Fund for First Nations is dedicated to empowering First Nations communities by fostering prosperity through on-reserve market housing. By facilitating the development of market housing, the Fund helps to improve the overall well-being and quality of life in First Nations communities. Whether the goal is to increase homeownership or provide rental options at market value, the Fund supports every community step in this transformative journey.
How the Fund Supports First Nations
With over two decades of experience, the Fund collaborates directly with First Nations—not individuals or mortgage brokers—to increase and enhance housing options on reserves. The focus is on helping band councils and First Nation-run housing authorities set up and manage their own homeownership programs. To do this, the Fund assists with capacity building, offers guidance in planning, and backs loans through the local governing bodies, ensuring that the process remains community-focused and locally managed.
