Sandra and Alain Bouchard Foundation: Supporting Changemakers, One Gesture at a Time
About the Foundation
The Sandra and Alain Bouchard Foundation (FSAB) was established in 2012 by Sandra Chartrand and Alain Bouchard, who have been active in the philanthropic community for many years. Their goal is to leave a lasting and positive impact for current and future generations. They are particularly invested in causes close to their hearts, aiming to support people who care for others and who help change the world, one gesture at a time.
Over the past decade, the FSAB has provided financial support to a significant number of organizations, contributing close to $30 million. This involvement has allowed the foundation to better understand the needs and challenges of various organizations and to have a tangible, positive impact on the community.
Fields of Action
FSAB’s mission is to help individuals realize their full potential. The foundation focuses on empowering artists and creators to elevate their art for everyone’s benefit and supporting people with intellectual disabilities to integrate into society and make their unique contributions.
Supporting Intellectual Disabilities
One of the foundation’s key focus areas is helping those with intellectual disabilities. FSAB supports organizations dedicated to individuals with intellectual disabilities, as well as research in this field. Their dream is to help end the marginalization of people with intellectual disabilities and make true inclusion a reality.
Promoting Arts and Culture
The foundation believes that culture is a powerful generator of emotion and an essential element of society. By supporting arts and culture, FSAB helps to foster a universal language that unites people and allows society to experience and express itself in countless ways.
Our Involvement: Making a Difference
Through initiatives and partnerships, the Sandra and Alain Bouchard Foundation sets up impactful projects related to culture, education, individual well-being, and research. Some examples of their involvement include:
- Fondation Place des Arts – Adapted Art Program: This program offers people with functional limitations a series of performing arts workshops so they can fully express themselves.
- Concordia University – Art Therapy Programs: These programs cater to neurodivergent youth and adults, people with developmental disorders (such as those on the autism spectrum), youth in foster care, and other groups needing accessible services.
The Sandra and Alain Bouchard Foundation continues to empower changemakers and benefit society with every gesture—one project, one life at a time.
