Grant and Funding Programs Offered by Ottawa Rotary Home Foundation

The Ottawa Rotary Home Foundation is the dedicated fundraising arm of the Ottawa Rotary Home, a respite and supported living provider for children, youth and adults with physical disabilities and complex medical needs in the Ottawa region. The Foundation’s central role is to mobilize financial resources so that the Home can offer individualized, person‑centred services to caregivers and individuals with disabilities.

The Foundation organizes and participates in fundraising events and campaigns, cultivates relationships with individual donors, businesses and community organizations, and secures grants, sponsorships and private donations. These revenues complement government program funding and parental user fees described on the Home’s funding page, helping to sustain overnight respite, adult day programming, supported living homes and community nursing supports.

Rather than operating open-call grant competitions, the Ottawa Rotary Home Foundation channels the funds it raises directly to the Ottawa Rotary Home. This support can cover program enhancements, specialized equipment, staff development, and quality-of-life initiatives for clients and families, such as sensory garden features or other therapeutic environments. By providing flexible financial backing, the Foundation enables the Home to respond to changing needs in respite care and supported living.

The Foundation also engages in advocacy and community outreach, raising awareness of the value of respite services and the challenges faced by people with disabilities and their caregivers. Through partnerships with local Rotary clubs and broader community stakeholders, it helps ensure that vital services remain accessible and sustainable in Ottawa and across Ontario.

Through its funding role, the Ottawa Rotary Home Foundation indirectly serves families caring for children, youth and adults with disabilities, as well as agencies that rely on the Home’s specialized medical and nursing expertise.
