Grant and Funding Programs Offered by Lincoln & Welland Regiment Foundation

The Lincoln & Welland Regiment Foundation is a registered charitable, not‑for‑profit organization dedicated to the long‑term financial stability and vitality of the Lincoln & Welland Regiment and its wider regimental family in the Niagara region of Ontario. The Foundation holds and manages significant land assets and an investment portfolio, enabling it to generate sustainable revenue in support of military, youth, and heritage initiatives.

The Foundation’s primary mandate is to provide financial support to the Lincoln & Welland Regiment, the Lincoln & Welland Regiment Association Band, and three affiliated Army Cadet Corps. Through this support, it helps cover costs that fall outside regular public funding, such as participation of soldiers in key commemorative and competitive events in Canada, the United States and the United Kingdom, as well as activities that promote the regiment’s history and presence in the community.

The organization has raised millions of dollars to date, channelled into various projects that benefit serving citizen soldiers, veterans, and youth. Fundraising campaigns, such as the “Sponsor a Soldier” initiative and the annual Foundation Golf Tournament, are used to mobilize community contributions and corporate sponsorships that the Foundation then allocates to these priority areas.

Beneficiaries of the Foundation’s funding include members of the serving regiment, the regimental band, cadets in affiliated corps, and veterans connected to the unit. The Foundation also supports youth leadership development and the preservation of Niagara’s military heritage, aligning with the broader mission of the Lincoln & Welland Regimental Senate to preserve shared history and support citizen soldiers and their families.

The Foundation operates as part of the larger regimental family structure, alongside the Regimental Senate, Association, band, Niagara Military Heritage Centre and cadet corps. Its real estate holdings, valued in excess of several million dollars, and its investment portfolio are managed to ensure long‑term financial viability, allowing the organization to maintain and potentially expand its support programs in the future.
