What else should I know about Global Missions?

Role of Global Missions in the funding ecosystem

Global Missions is the worldwide missions arm of the United Pentecostal Church International (UPCI). Its mandate is to proclaim the whole gospel to the whole world by sending and sustaining missionaries and helping establish self-supporting, self-governing, and self-propagating national churches. To achieve this, Global Missions organizes structured financial support for missionary personnel, projects, and ministries across multiple world regions.
The organization mobilizes churches and individual donors through giving campaigns, Partners In Missions (PIM) commitments, and the I AM GLOBAL initiative. Funds raised are redistributed to missionaries and projects, enabling them to remain on the field, reduce time spent on deputation, and respond quickly when new opportunities or urgent needs arise.

Funding mechanisms and programs

Global Missions manages several complementary funding streams. The Partners In Missions program undergirds Intermediate and Career Missionaries with ongoing financial support, while short-term associate programs such as AIM and AMP often combine self-raised support with contributions from partners. Dedicated endowments provide more stable, long-term backing: an Administrative Endowment offsets divisional overhead, the Compassion Endowment finances rapid disaster and emergency responses, the Evangelism and Leadership Endowment subsidizes evangelism and leadership training, and the Open Door Endowment funds rapid deployment when new fields open.
In addition, Global Missions facilitates planned giving through charitable gift annuities, life insurance beneficiary designations, and bequests managed in collaboration with the United Pentecostal Foundation. Church Giving Reports and campaign result pages (such as I AM GLOBAL results) provide transparency about how contributions translate into missionaries returning to or remaining in their fields of service.

Supported audiences and global impact

The primary beneficiaries of Global Missions funding are UPCI missionaries, associate missionaries, and national church partners serving in regions across Africa, Asia, Europe, the Pacific, the Americas, and access-challenged nations. Financial support covers living and ministry expenses, evangelism efforts, leadership development, Bible school training, children’s ministries, and rapid-response humanitarian work. Through its networks and short-term missions pathways, the organization also helps emerging workers gain field experience that can lead to long-term, funded missionary appointments.

Governance and partnerships

Global Missions operates under UPCI governance, with a General Director, office management team, and regional directors overseeing strategy and allocation of resources. The division collaborates with endorsed ministries and linked initiatives such as Short-Term Missions, Apostolic Youth Corps, Global Educators, and other specialized programs, ensuring that financial support is aligned with broader missional priorities.
