Grant and Funding Programs Offered by Fondation Santé de l’Archipel

Fondation Santé de l’Archipel is a hospital foundation serving the community of Îles-de-la-Madeleine, Québec. Created in 1982, it raises private and community donations in order to support the Centre intégré de santé et de services sociaux (CISSS) des Îles in its mandate to prevent illness, cure, care for and support the local population. The foundation channels funds towards projects and investments that improve the quality, accessibility and continuity of health services delivered on the archipelago.

The foundation structures its financial support around five main funds: a General Fund, the Francine‑Daigle Fund for oncology, the Eudore‑Labrie Fund for seniors and long‑term care residents, the Jeunesse l’Envol Fund dedicated to children and families, and a Mental Health Fund. The Francine‑Daigle Fund supports improvements in cancer care, such as adapting hematology‑oncology spaces and purchasing specialized equipment to offer services in a humane, patient‑centred environment. The Eudore‑Labrie Fund helps enrich the living environment of seniors, especially CHSLD residents, by improving spaces, adding equipment and supporting quality leisure and “milieu de vie” projects.

The Jeunesse l’Envol Fund has a dual role: funding paediatric equipment and capital projects, and providing direct financial assistance through the Programme d’entraide l’Envol for parents who must travel outside the islands for their child’s health care. The Mental Health Fund supports projects, programs and activities that promote psychological well‑being and help clients regain balance in everyday life.

Beneficiaries of the foundation’s funding include the CISSS des Îles and its various facilities, patients of all ages, their families and caregivers, as well as seniors in residential and long‑term care. Funds are raised through annual campaigns, memorial and planned giving, corporate and community donations, and benefit events such as Vague d’Espoir and l’Équipée Santé.
