Founded in December 2008 under Quebec's Companies Act (Part III), the foundation's mission is to relieve poverty by primarily addressing food insecurity among deprived residents of the MRC du Haut Saint-François. Beyond food assistance, the foundation occasionally supports other essential needs including clothing, furniture, electricity and heating bills, and school entrance fees.

The foundation distributes donations through various forms of direct aid: grocery store gift cards, rent payments, municipal taxes, pharmacy costs, utility bills (electricity, cable, internet), veterinary services for pets of low-income families, household appliances, meal delivery services (popote roulante), optometric care, medical equipment, transportation costs, and school-related expenses.

The foundation organizes annual fundraising events including a spaghetti dinner benefit (souper spaghetti bénéfice) each November, Christmas concerts featuring the Musique des Fusiliers de Sherbrooke, and a June dance evening. The official spokesperson is magician Alain Choquette.
