Grant and Funding Programs Offered by Fondation du Collège Laflèche

Fondation du Collège Laflèche is an autonomous, non-profit foundation created in 1986 to support Collège Laflèche and its students in Trois-Rivières, Québec. Governed by its own board of directors composed of alumni, retirees, business leaders and college staff, the foundation mobilizes philanthropic support to improve access to higher education and to finance strategic development projects for the institution.

The foundation plays a central role in student financial aid. Through its scholarship program, it awards nearly 350 bursaries each year, representing about $200,000 in direct financial support. These scholarships help students carry out mandatory internships in Québec and abroad, deal with major financial hardship, obtain neuropsychological assessments, and are used to recognize academic excellence, community engagement, perseverance and leadership. Several named scholarships are offered in partnership with donors, such as Dumais-Soulard, Daniel McMahon, La voie des femmes, and other targeted awards.

Funding is primarily targeted to current and prospective students of Collège Laflèche, including international students and student-athletes entering college. Aid can take the form of scholarship payments, tuition reductions for pre-university programs, or one-time discretionary support to respond to urgent situations that threaten study continuity. Beyond individual bursaries, the foundation channels donations to major pedagogical and infrastructure projects. Over the years it has co-financed student residences such as the "Résidence verte", a 44-student housing facility, as well as an amphitheatre, the L’Escarbille teaching restaurant for the hospitality management program, active learning classrooms, a digital fabrication lab (LAB 321, including a laser cutter), and a flight simulator acquired in partnership with the City of Trois-Rivières. These investments improve learning environments and expand experiential teaching capacities.

The foundation publishes annual reports and impact summaries detailing its activities, results and use of funds. Donor recognition structures (Ambassadeurs, Distingués, Émérites, Bienfaiteurs) and initiatives like the Club Sélect highlight major supporters and lifelong ambassadors of the college. The annual Prix Monseigneur Laflèche further recognizes outstanding alumni whose careers and social engagement embody the values promoted by the institution.
