Grant and Funding Programs Offered by evenko Foundation

The evenko Foundation is a philanthropic organization launched in May 2015 that focuses on access to music education for young people throughout Québec. It positions itself as a catalyst for school and community music projects by donating musical instruments and related equipment to teachers, elementary and secondary schools, and community organizations that believe in the benefits of music education.

Its flagship initiative, La Tournée des dons, is a structured donation program through which the foundation supplies instruments to environments where music can play a central role in youth development. The program favours schools that already have committed music teachers and organizations that recognize the social, psychological, emotional and academic benefits of music for children and teenagers.

Rather than offering cash grants, the evenko Foundation provides in-kind support in the form of instruments such as keyboards, percussion, string instruments and classroom sets. Public news items describe major donations, for example $40,000 in instruments to École Bois-Franc-Aquarelle and cello donations to the Ensemble de violoncelles de Montréal, often in collaboration with partners like SiriusXM Canada and the Molson Foundation.

According to the foundation, since 2016 its Tournée des dons d’instruments has delivered more than $1,444,000 worth of instruments to over 50 schools and organizations across Québec. These contributions enable the creation or strengthening of music rooms, intensive music programs and inclusive initiatives that particularly benefit youth from under-resourced communities.

The foundation’s mission is to give all young people in Québec the means to flourish through music. It targets learning environments where music can be integrated from early grades onward and where access to quality instruments is a barrier. By equipping schools and community groups, the foundation promotes creativity, self-esteem, perseverance in education and broader access to artistic expression for children and adolescents, regardless of their socio-economic profile.
