Acts Of Grace Grants: 2023 Highlights
Empowering Young People in the Trades (Zambia)
Acts of Grace supported EduDeo Ministries and the Church of Central Africa Presbyterian in providing trades training opportunities for youth in rural Zambia. The project tackles high unemployment by equipping students with valuable skills such as sewing, computer hardware, carpentry, mechanics, and bricklaying. With a Christ-centred approach, the training centre integrates faith with practical work, opening doors for meaningful careers and community impact. The 2023 grant funded the construction of additional classrooms and the purchase of essential training equipment.Developing Graduation Practicum for Biblical Counseling (Canada)
Funds were granted to Fondation du Counseling Biblique to advance French-language biblical counseling training. The grant enabled the design and launch of a practicum course, preparing students for hands-on internship experiences as they complete their BA and MA degrees. Acts of Grace funded Prairie College’s expansion of its Prison Bible Encounter Program to incarcerated women in Alberta. The program offers accredited biblical education, personal growth, and spiritual discipleship directly inside prisons. The grant supported program tailoring and rollout at the Edmonton Institution for Women, giving inmates an avenue to transformation and hope through the message of Jesus Christ.Charting the Path to Redemption for Ukrainian Prisoners (Ukraine)
Prison Fellowship International received a grant for 'The Prisoner’s Journey'—a volunteer-led Bible study in Ukrainian prisons. Designed to reduce recidivism, this course helps prisoners encounter Jesus and embrace a new way of life. With Acts of Grace’s support, the program expects to reach 10,000 inmates in its first year and graduate nearly 4,700, mobilizing 315 volunteers across 42 prisons.Building Healthy Churches That Model the Gospel (Canada, Francophonie)
Publications Chrétiennes was funded to strengthen French-speaking churches, providing key resources like the translation of 19 essential books on church health and discipleship. Support also covers an annual conference to train pastors and leaders, aiming to cultivate effective, biblically-rooted local churches that embody the love and truth of Christ in their communities.A Dynamic Platform of Theological Education for French-speaking Churches (Canada, International)
