Overview of the NGen — Advanced Manufacturing Homebuilding Challenge program
The NGen — Advanced Manufacturing Homebuilding Challenge provides up to $50 million in funding to support projects that integrate advanced manufacturing technologies and innovation into homebuilding in Canada. Eligible activities include accelerating home construction, reducing housing costs, minimizing environmental impact, and enhancing productivity through transformative and collaborative initiatives.
Financing terms and conditions
- Total government funding for the program is $50 million over two years, starting in 2024-25, as part of the Homebuilding Technology and Innovation Fund.
- NGen aims to leverage an additional $150 million from industry and other levels of government, targeting a total investment of $200 million in housing innovation projects.
- Co-investment model: Projects are expected to be funded through combined contributions from the government, industry, and other governmental levels, with up to $200 million in targeted collaborative investment.
