Who is eligible?

Eligible entities for this grant include business corporations, partnerships, social economy enterprises (NPOs and cooperatives) engaging in merchant activities, and business sector groups. Non-eligible entities are government bodies, quasi-governmental organizations, municipal corporations, NPOs not engaging in merchant activities, any insolvent or financially restructured entity, national franchises, and businesses with religious, sexual, political, seasonal, or personal services nature. Companies applying must be located in Trois-Rivières and in operation there for at least a year prior to application.

Who is not eligible

This grant excludes certain companies and industries based on their governance structure or core activities. These exclusions ensure the fund supports sustainable and community-driven projects within Trois-Rivières.

• Governmental, paragovernmental, and municipal corporations are not eligible.
• Non-profit organizations not engaged in commercial activities are excluded.
• Any company or organization deemed insolvent, or undergoing financial restructuring, cannot apply.
• National brand franchises or chains are not permitted.
• Religious, sexual, political, seasonal businesses, and personal services are non-eligible for the fund.

Eligible expenses

The grant aims to support small and medium-sized businesses in Trois-Rivières in their efforts to reduce environmental impacts through sustainable initiatives. Eligible projects are those that focus on improving sustainability through technological, operational, and material modifications.

• Conducting feasibility studies by an expert to assess environmental impact enhancements.
• Acquiring and implementing clean technologies to reduce environmental footprint.
• Modifying operations to decrease energy or resource losses within the company.
• Altering products or processes to incorporate bio-sourced materials.
• Engaging in circular economy projects to promote resource efficiency.
• Obtaining efficient waste management systems to handle residual materials.
• Installing water-saving systems or equipment to valorize discharge waste.

Eligible geographic areas

This grant is available exclusively to businesses situated within a specific geographical area, aligning with the regional development objectives of the funding body. Eligible locations are carefully defined to support strategic initiatives.

• Businesses located in the city of Trois-Rivières, Quebec, Canada.

• The funding is non-repayable and covers up to 50% of eligible project expenses, with a cap of $15,000.
• Not-for-profit organizations and social economy enterprises can receive up to 80% funding per project, respecting a maximum cumulative limit of 80% from all government sources.
• All financial assistance is contingent upon the availability of funds in the Mon virage écologique fund.
• A protocol of agreement is signed between the recipient and Innovation et Développement économique Trois-Rivières, outlining the terms of the financial assistance.
• Funding is disbursed in two installments.
• Companies must demonstrate a positive social and environmental balance sheet.
• If a company relocates its primary activities outside Trois-Rivières within one year of grant issuance, the full amount of the aid must be reimbursed.
• A four-member evaluation committee, including three representatives from the sustainable development sector and one from IDÉ Trois-Rivières, assesses the applications.
