Who is not eligible
- Companies that would establish or expand in Newfoundland and Labrador even without EDGE incentives.
- Businesses whose project would not create a substantial net economic benefit to the province.
- Companies that would receive a direct competitive advantage over other businesses already established in the province if granted EDGE status.
- Projects that do not meet the program’s required investment, sales, or job-creation thresholds.
- Companies that do not maintain the required eligibility criteria before entering into a contract with the Province, unless a temporary circumstance is approved by the Lieutenant Governor.
Eligible expenses
- Provincial corporate income tax.
- Provincial health and post-secondary education (payroll) tax.
- Federal corporate income tax.
- Municipal property taxes and/or municipal business taxes, where participating municipalities elect to offer this rebate.
- Access to unserviced Crown land for $1.00, where required to implement the business plan.
