Who is eligible?

Residents of Alberta: Applicants must have their primary residence in Alberta and meet one of the following criteria: - Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or a Protected Person with an open work or study permit from within Canada. - Have lived primarily in Alberta for at least one full year prior to applying. - Ordinarily reside in Alberta for at least six months each year, exceptions made for formal education purposes.2. Diverse Groups Encouraged: The AFA encourages applications from individuals representing diverse communities, including: - Indigenous peoples - Racialized communities - Women - People with disabilities - 2SLGBTQIA+ community3. Compliance with AFA: Applicants must be in good standing with the AFA. This means: - No open or outstanding projects or reports. - Any previous grant reporting requirements must be approved by the AFA before submitting a new application.4. Restrictions: - Applicants, including ensembles or collectives, must not be incorporated under provincial or federal legislation. - Principal artists cannot simultaneously apply for or receive funding for multiple projects as individuals or as members of various groups.
